The latter cool the tool and workpiece, thus limit the heating by safeguarding the cutting edges, improving the dimensional precision but also favoring the finishing of the surfaces. Therefore they are a constant in all workshops.
In practice, emulsions or whole oils are used: the first ones are more widespread but, where intensive processes are carried out at high speed and with strong exports, or where high resistant materials are processed or even when particularly high processing quality is required, whole cutting oils are preferred.
